Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) is recruiting to fill a full-time Youth Mental Health Services Coordinator position within the Bureau of Prevention Treatment and Recovery (BPTR). BPTR promotes overall wellness through the management and support of community mental health and substance use services for people of all ages and backgrounds.

This position can work remotely up to 5 days per week but will be required to report to an office location occasionally based on training or operational need. This position can be headquartered at one of our central or regional offices . Some statewide travel is also required.

Position Summary

As the Youth Mental Health Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and monitoring of significant activities of the public mental health system for children and youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) in Wisconsin. You'll focus on ensuring children receive appropriate care and good outcomes in the least restrictive environment; developing supports for children and their families; and ensuring accountability and integrity in all activities. In addition, you will lead activities related to Child and Adolescent Day Treatment facilities to ensure children are receiving appropriate, trauma informed, and best practice in their care within these agencies.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $37.00 and $41.00 per hour (approximately between $76,900 and $85,200 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former employees is based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Human Services Program Coordinator - Senior and is in pay schedule/range 07/03.

Job Details

  • To work remotely, employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet.
  • Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided.
  • For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
  • Experience working in mental health, substance use, or co-occurring treatment support services for children and youth with severe emotional disturbance, mental health, or substance use challenges.
  • Experience with evidence based or best practices in working with children and families with mental health or substance use challenges.
  • Experience providing training, support, or technical assistance activities within a mental health or substance use related program area.
  • Experience with contract or grant administration (e.g., reviewing and approving budgets and workplans, monitoring or evaluating performance, ensuring compliance, etc.).
Well qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience collaborating with a variety of partners in the mental health or substance use services systems (e.g., Tribal nations, treatment providers, county, state, federal or local agencies, etc.).
  • Experience with children mental health systems of care and the principles of wraparound.
  • Experience assessing the strengths and needs of youth and using these to develop a plan of care.
