REPORTS TO: Systems Controller/Analyst
JOB GOAL: Monitor the district's energy management program under board policy and Chief Operations Officer's guidelines for the purpose of reducing utility consumption.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain records and data for all utilities to include electricity, natural gas, water, sewer, and garbage service.
Provide final approval for all payments for utilities associated with electricity, natural gas, water, sewer, and garbage service.
Assume responsibility for the operations of district computerized energy management systems. This includes all scheduling, temperature adjustments, and daily monitoring needed to meet individual room, facility, and school activity needs.
Insure that each utility meter is on the proper utility rate schedule and is receiving correct billing each month.
Coordinate use of facilities and insure proper space utilization consistent with energy conservation. Provide to the Chief Operations Officer data and recommendations for summer program locations that will meet energy conservation goals.
Implement an off-hours energy reduction program for every building in the district.
Implement weekday, weekend, holiday, and summer shutdown checklists for every building in the district.
Insure efficient energy usage by custodial staff during summer work programs.
Participate in the design and construction phases of all construction projects to insure energy efficiency is incorporated into all projects.
Adjust temperatures, schedule start/stop times, and monitor fresh air needs on all equipment that is connected to an energy management system.
Participate in meetings, seminars and conferences relating to energy use and conservation.
Prepare energy requirement estimates and budget allotments for all facilities and develop procedures for efficient utilization of energy sources.
Keep Principals and custodial staffs informed as to status of their buildings' energy consumption.
Conduct regular "on-site" audits of all the district's facilities to insure operation efficiency, optimum educational environment, and compliance with district's energy policy.
Assume responsibility for all programmable security lighting time clocks. Establish and monitor schedules of start/stop times for security lighting time clock settings.
Responsible for developing good energy conservation minded employee habits and attitudes.
Manage paper and cardboard recycle programs and for maintaining records related to amount of material collected and associated money earned.
Monitors the status of the 'Custodial Weekly Energy Log ' reports.
Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year. Salary to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
