Description

As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, your primary focus is to ensure that every patient receives the highest standard of dental care in a calm, clean, and supportive environment. You'll be an essential part of the clinical team-supporting hygienists and dentists with the tools, supplies, and setup needed to deliver exceptional care with minimal disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dental hygienists during cleanings and other hygiene services
• Support the clinical team by managing dental supply inventory in collaboration with Catalyst Purchasing
• Oversee the routine maintenance and cleanliness of all dental equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Minimize repairs through proactive care and regular upkeep of equipment
• Ensure compliance with universal precautions and all federal/state health and safety regulations, fostering a safe, hygienic work environment for patients and staff
• Assist with patient record management, scheduling, and materials handling
• Contribute to a positive patient experience-from welcome to walk-out
• Perform other duties as needed to support clinical operations

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hours may vary based on clinic needs)

Travel

Occasional travel may be required

Work Environment & Tools Used

You'll work in a modern dental clinic using a variety of equipment and tools, including:

• Dental instruments and chairside tools
• X-ray and sterilization equipment
• Office equipment: computers, copiers, printers, fax, postage machine, etc.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified or trained Dental Assistant with a current Oklahoma Dental Assistant permit
• Certifications: CPR, First Aid, Radiography, Coronal Polishing, and Hygiene Assistance
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, tray setups, dental codes, and emergency protocols
• Proficient in using dental tools and technology (digital x-rays, intraoral camera, sterilization equipment, etc.)
• Infection control and sterilization experience
• Valid driver's license required

Physical Requirements

• Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day
• Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity required
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers as needed
• Occasional exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and radiation
