Continental's Portfolio & Strategic Planning group manages the resource base and evaluates long-term tradeoffs and gaps associated with the Company's financial and operating objectives. The team is searching for an engineering candidate to lead the portfolio analysis process.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate portfolio analysis needs across the corporationCollaborate with Portfolio team and Asset team members to ensure the quality of resource development characterizations within the portfolio modelDevelop and maintain operational and financial parameters in the portfolio model that align with the commitments, constraints, and objectives of the corporation.Frame and Run Scenarios to evaluate portfolio tradeoffs and to provide strategic insightsCommunicate portfolio insights and results to various audiences, including asset teams and executivesLeverage portfolio insights to develop a long-range plan used to guide financial planning and asset team operations scheduling.Other duties as assigned.Skills and CompetenciesStrong quantitative abilities, acute business judgment, and creative problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to apply statistical concepts to solve business challengesSelf-motivated to manage and complete projects within time constraintsProven team player that exhibits a positive attitude and respect for othersRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field from an accredited college or university.Minimum of twelve (12) or moreyears of industry experience with a firm understanding of reservoir engineering, field development planning, and economics & reserves for unconventional resources.An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced user of @RISK or similar risk modeling toolAdvanced user of Aries or similar economics productAdvanced user of Spotfire or similar analytics toolAdvanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExperience with Quorum Portfolio or similar portfolio analysis toolExperience with PRMS and SEC Reserves regulationsMBA or equivalent advanced degree or certificateAble to utilize GIS systems and conduct basic spatial analysis tasksBroad understanding of internal and external E&P data sources and ability to connect, compile, and analyzeAble to write or edit code (e.g. SQL, R, Python, VBA) to enhance personal and team productivityPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsRequires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.Continental Resources, Inc. provides equal employment and affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.About Us Continental is successful because we challenge our employees to be innovative and creative.
