Job Profile Summary
The Staff Material Control Professional, working under general supervision, is responsible for tasks relating to materials management and planned maintenance activities within the organization. The role is responsible for optimizing material handling, tracking and storage through inventory management best practices and efficient processes. The role also focuses on maintaining accurate master data entries and cleansing activities, supporting the implementation of master data management tools. The role contributes to cost reduction, actively participates in change efforts, establishes influential relationships, and recommends solutions independently, contributing to collaborative, goal-oriented team efforts.
Job Description
Materials Management
- Enters all material movements within SAP, ensuring complete data accuracy.
- Develops an understanding of materials management and planned maintenance, including industry materials and equipment, working with stakeholders to identify items deemed critical.
- Coordinates with operations and suppliers for the return, repair, refurbishing, or disposal of materials, ensuring compliance and efficiency via seamless material transfers.
- Communicates effectively, sharing knowledge and actively identifying opportunities for data quality and process improvement.
- Assesses inventory management processes and stock levels and assists with reporting on inventory metrics and optimizing material handling and storage to improve operational efficiency.
- Participates in and/or leads rigorous physical audits of inventory maintained at Company owned and 3rd party locations, ensuring optimal utilization and accountability within the supply chain.
- Participates in and/or conducts routine obsolescence reviews of inventory to identify opportunity for investment recovery via surplus sales or other material utilization efforts.
- Understands supplier products, analyzes competitor strategies and communicates key insights to enhance strategic decision-making.
Planned Maintenance (PM)
- Ensures the completeness and accuracy of the SAP PM Asset registry by collecting and entering master equipment data across various systems, adhering to established data governance policies and ensuring compliance with both maintenance and COPAS rules.
- Converts PM notifications to planned maintenance material transfers (PMMTs), coordinating with relevant stakeholders to identify and correct any inconsistencies in data.
- Enters all equipment movements within SAP, ensuring complete data accuracy for the life cycle of the equipment (e.g. Well-to-Well, initial creation, retirement, etc.) contributing to equipment uptime and safety.
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders for equipment deemed critical and potentially impactful to environmental regulations in support of Regulatory Compliance.
- Conducts self-regulated data audits by monitoring the data quality dashboard to identify and correct any master data errors.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.
Experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Supply Chain specializing in areas such as Material Requirement Planning, Materials Tracking and Traceability, Warehousing and Storage, Inventory Management or a related field. Planned Maintenance experience including Master Data Maintenance, Data Governance, Data Quality Management, System Integration or a related field is preferred. Industry experience is preferred. SAP experience is preferred.
